I remember watching monkey as a kid - I would have been about 11 or 12 then. I remember being fascinated and delighted by the special effects, the humour, and the way nothing Monkey did ever fazed Tripitaka, except the time he pretended he was her (his?) mother. I for one would definitely buy a video of it. Let me know when it's out!

internet. Monkey Magic was the first television show I ever
remember watching. It used to be on the ABC here in Aus, but
it's only on Pay TV now, which is annoying. What a show it
was! Brilliant page.

I really like Tripitake (Masako Natsume).

japanese even today. CANON's CM(she show up.)was very popular last year.

Excellent job on the monkey home page. By the way are all
the words at the intro of the show correct - I seem to have
heard them differently. Have you put the song both versions
on here - it would be great if you have or are going to.

I've adored Monkey for many years now and have watched it each time it has been screened on the ABC. I initially thought there was nothing on the net about this strange and fascinating program. However, your Monkey page proved me wrong and I've been plesantly surprised- top stuff! I haven't seen the series for several years and would LOVE to see it again in it's entirity. I recently got one episode off a friend (the very last one I think) about a wasp witch who lives high atop a mountain and kidnaps small children. It was a lot of fun and has wetted my apetite for more Monkey (if only I could afford pay television!). Anyway, it's great to know there are other Monkey fans out there. BTW, could you tell me some more about the follow on series from Monkey (Water Margin?).

I'm glad I found your post. I posted a question about Monkey
on this newsgroup months ago without getting much of a
response. I've lived in America since I was ten, but I am
English. I grew up watching Monkey. When I got to college,
I studied "Journey to the West" and realized what it was. I
obviously had no idea when I was a kid. Anyway, I've been
desperately trying to find out if the series is available on
video. An English woman I met recently asked me if I
remembered The Water Margin series. I didn't, but I'd love
to see it. Haven't got around to reading the book yet.
Anyway, please drop me a line and keep me up to date. I'd
really appreciate it. Thanks.
