As an actor George has notched up appearances in several cult television shows, notably playing the heroic Holderman opposite Patrick Troughton in Doctor Who: The Tomb of the Cybermen and featuring in two episodes of The Avengers, 'The White Dwarf' and 'Invasion of the Earthmen'. His many film appearances include the Richard Widmark nautical adventure The Bedford Incident, The One That Got Away and the feature film version of Dad's Army. Other information

He's in Star Wars, playing Commander Praji, having a conversation with Darth Vader on the rebel ship in the opening scene! He has the following lines:-
"Lord Vader - the battle station plans are not on board this ship and no transmissions were made. An escape pod was jettisoned during the fighting, but no life-forms were aboard." (doesn't sound like him because his lines were revoiced by someone doing an American accent, which is ironic!)
